Bruno Mars Tops Album Charts

Bruno Mars' 'The Romantic' debuted at #1 with 180K first-week units, topping the charts alongside releases from Don Toliver, J. Cole, and SZA. His album also pulled 26.4M streams in its debut week, trailing Justin Bieber's 'SWAG' (74.4M) and Harry Styles' latest (63.3M).

This marks Bruno Mars' first album to top the Billboard 200 in nearly 13 years, following 2013's 'Unorthodox Jukebox'. His last two major releases, 2016's '24K Magic' and 2021's 'An Evening with Silk Sonic', both peaked at No. 2. 'The Romantic' is the singer's first-ever album to debut at the top spot. The strong launch was powered by 93,500 in pure album sales, with vinyl collectors playing a major role by purchasing 48,000 copies across ten different variants. The album's lead single, "I Just Might," had already paved the way for the successful release, becoming Mars' 10th career No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. A follow-up single, "Risk It All," was released concurrently with the nine-track album. The retro-infused album was primarily crafted with previous collaborators like D'Mile, Philip Lawrence, and James Fauntleroy, blending funk, R&B, and Latin sounds. Other major releases on the charts include Don Toliver's 'Octane', which was his first album to hit number one, and J. Cole's anticipated "final" album, 'The Fall-Off'. The same week, new albums from Gorillaz ('The Mountain') and Mitski ('Nothing's About To Happen to Me') also debuted in the top 10. In support of the album, Mars has announced 'The Romantic Tour', an all-stadium concert series running from April to December 2026. Due to record-breaking first-day ticket sales, the tour was expanded from its initial 39 dates to over 70 shows.
