Currently, 34 of 70 trails are open, and 5 of 7 lifts are operating. 12 of the 70 trails are groomed. Red Lodge Mountain is nestled in the Beartooth Mountains. The summit elevation on Grizzly Peak is 9,416 feet, while the base area is at 7,433 feet. The vertical drop is 2,400 feet across 1,635 acres of skiable terrain. Red Lodge Mountain averages 250 inches of snowfall per year. The longest run, Lazy M, stretches 1.5 miles. Snowmaking covers 28% of the trails. The mountain typically opens the day after Thanksgiving and operates until the second Sunday in April. The new Stache Express lift, a high-speed detachable triple chair, was installed in the summer of 2023. The lift is named after Jeff Schmidt, the mountain's GM from 2009-2024. The forecast for Wednesday is mostly sunny with a high in the lower 40s. Thursday is expected to be windy and warmer, with a chance of rain showers.
