Four New Restaurants Coming to San Ramon Hub
San Ramon's City Center Bishop Ranch will add four new restaurants. The new openings are designed to expand the dining options at the growing commercial and lifestyle hub, catering to the area's residents and workforce.
The new dining options include Rico Rico Taco, an Oakland-based taqueria known for its Mexico City-style street food and handmade tortillas, which is anticipated to open in February. Joining the lineup is Meyhouse, a Turkish restaurant and jazz bar with existing locations in Sunnyvale and Palo Alto. Also new to the center is KHAKI, a modern Indian restaurant from chefs Sujan and Pujan Sarkar, and Palmetto Superfoods, which offers nutrient-dense açaí bowls. These additions are part of a broader strategy to establish City Center Bishop Ranch as a premier retail and dining destination in the Tri-Valley. The 300,000-square-foot center, designed by architect Renzo Piano, opened in 2018 and aims to serve the approximately 30,000 employees within the larger Bishop Ranch business park and the surrounding affluent community. The complex already houses a mix of national brands and local favorites, including The Slanted Door, LB Steak, and a 10-screen luxury cinema, THE LOT. The development of City Center is a key component of the evolution of Bishop Ranch, a 585-acre business park established in 1978 by Sunset Development Company. Historically a major corporate hub housing companies like Chevron and AT&T, the addition of the retail center marked a significant step in creating a more integrated live-work-play environment. This expansion reflects the strong economic fundamentals of San Ramon. The city has experienced a 9.8% increase in median household income between 2019 and 2022, reaching $190,829. The retail vacancy rate in San Ramon was 5.5% as of a May 2022 report, and the city's retail inventory has grown with the addition of City Center, indicating a healthy demand for retail and dining spaces.
