DentScribe Launches AI for Dental Practices
A new platform called DentScribe is launching to bring agentic AI to dental offices. The tool converts patient notes into checklists and daily plans, aiming to reduce overhead and help practices recover revenue from missed production opportunities in a data-heavy environment.
The platform was co-founded by practicing dentist Dr. Vinni K. Singh and tech entrepreneur Dr. Ratinder Paul Singh Ahuja. Dr. Singh was driven by her own experience with the administrative burden of documentation in her San Jose practice. Dr. Ahuja, a serial entrepreneur with over 70 patents, has successfully exited four previous technology startups to companies including Cisco and McAfee. DentScribe aims to tackle significant revenue loss in dental practices, which can lose up to $150,000 annually from missed calls and intake failures alone. The company's "agentic AI" goes beyond simple transcription by taking action on the information it gathers, a key differentiator from more passive AI tools. The platform features "CoPilot," which analyzes patient records to create chairside checklists of pending treatments and missed opportunities. Another feature, "GPS" (Guided Production System), uses the AI-generated notes to create a daily plan for the dental team, highlighting priorities to maximize productivity and patient care. While other AI scribes for dentistry exist, such as Denti.AI and S10.AI, DentScribe focuses on a "closed-loop" system. This system not only captures and structures information but also turns it into actionable tasks and revenue-generating opportunities within the practice's workflow. Recently, DentScribe received a Notice of Allowance for its first U.S. patent, covering its system for automating the creation of structured SOAP (Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan) notes from conversations. This validation of their core technology helps to solidify their position in the dental AI market. The company's vision extends beyond just simplifying paperwork to creating a more efficient and patient-centric model of dental care. By automating documentation and proactively identifying opportunities, DentScribe intends to empower dentists to focus more on patient interaction and less on administrative tasks.
