Covington, KY Gets 'Pineapple on Pizza' Mural

A new “Pineapple on Pizza” mural was just unveiled in Covington, Northern Kentucky, as part of Rust-Oleum’s “Spray It Forward” program [https://x.com/i/status/2032335902140145883]. It's one of seven U.S. sites getting a mural through the program.

The mural, titled "Pineapple on Pizza," is located on the side of The Gruff, a pizzeria at the foot of the Roebling Suspension Bridge in Covington. The public unveiling took place on January 28, 2026. The mural was created by the Kentucky-based artist collective Often Seen Rarely Spoken (OSRS). It is meant to reflect Covington's past, present, and future, blending geometry with local symbols. Imagery includes a crushed can symbolizing reinvention, lemon slices suggesting new energy, and a freight train nodding to Covington's railroad history. A pizza slice and goats pay homage to The Gruff, while an hourglass hints at the city's evolving future. Rust-Oleum provided paint and materials, including its RUST-O spray line, for the project. The "Spray It Forward" program is a national effort supporting up to 10 new murals in 2025.
