Freightos Names New CEO
Freightos' board appointed Pablo Pinillos as CEO and director. This move reflects the increasing importance of digital business models and international market expertise in board composition.
Pinillos, previously CFO and interim CEO since January 2026, officially takes the helm on March 16, 2026. He was selected after a search that considered both internal and external candidates. His appointment comes after Zvi Schreiber, Freightos' founder, stepped down from the board in February 2026 due to differing views on the company's direction. Schreiber founded Freightos in 2012. Pinillos' priorities include disciplined execution, expanding the solutions business, and achieving financial break-even in Q4. He aims to strengthen Freightos' position in ocean and procurement management and drive transaction growth. Before Freightos, Pinillos was CFO at blockchain software firm Coincover and DevOps platform Bitrise. He also spent 14 years at Qlik, including as VP of Strategic Growth and Business Transformation, where he helped with their IPO and acquisition by a private equity firm. Freightos reported strong Q1 2024 results, with revenue up 11% to $5.4 million. They also saw a record number of transactions, with 295.6 thousand, which was a 29% increase year-over-year.
