X-Humanoid Debuts New Robotics Platform
The Beijing Innovation Center of Humanoid Robotics (X-Humanoid) has officially launched its latest general-purpose robot platform, the Embodied Tien Kung 3.0. The new system is designed with a focus on enhanced openness and practical usability for a wider range of applications.
- The Embodied Tien Kung 3.0 stands at 169 cm tall and weighs 62 kg. Its processing power is handled by a high-performance Intel Core i7 processor and dual Nvidia Jetson AGX Orin boards, delivering approximately 550 trillion operations per second. - The platform is built on the "Huisi Kaiwu" general embodied AI platform, which enables a closed-loop system of perception, decision-making, and execution for autonomous operation. This allows the robot to move beyond pre-programmed paths to genuine autonomous decision-making. - X-Humanoid is promoting an open ecosystem by publishing toolchains, datasets like RoboMIND, and a developer environment to encourage broader research and development on the robot's skills. The platform supports common protocols such as ROS2, MQTT, and TCP/IP. - The robot is capable of high-dynamic movements, including clearing obstacles of 1 meter and performing dexterous actions like kneeling and bending in confined spaces with millimeter-level precision. - The Beijing Innovation Center of Humanoid Robotics was established in November 2023 and is the first provincial-level humanoid robot innovation center in China, created in collaboration with companies like Xiaomi Robotics and UBTECH. - Previous versions of the Tien Kung robot have been deployed in industrial settings, such as on an unmanned production line at a Foton Cummins engine plant, and for high-risk power grid inspections. - In a demonstration of its remote capabilities, the Embodied Tien Kung connected to a low Earth orbit satellite to transmit its visual data in real-time, showcasing its potential for use in areas without stable terrestrial internet. - The development of platforms like Tien Kung is part of China's broader strategy to establish a preliminary innovation system for humanoid robots by 2025 and create globally influential companies in the sector.
