Cognizant deepens Google Cloud AI partnership

Cognizant announced an expanded strategic partnership with Google Cloud, focusing on operationalizing agentic AI for enterprise clients. The collaboration aims to help businesses move from AI strategy to deployed, governed systems at scale. Cognizant will leverage its proprietary capabilities built on Google Cloud to accelerate this transition for its customers.

- This expanded partnership builds on a multi-year relationship that has evolved from cloud modernization to a deep focus on AI, including a May 2023 announcement to train 25,000 professionals on Google Cloud AI and a March 2024 commitment to train 70,000 associates on Gemini. - Cognizant is investing $1 billion in generative AI over three years, with the Google Cloud partnership being a central component of this strategy to amplify human potential through AI. - To scale the delivery of agentic AI, Cognizant is establishing a dedicated Gemini Enterprise Center of Excellence and will use its proprietary "Agent Development Lifecycle (ADLC)" to integrate AI into the entire development workflow. - A key offering from this collaboration is the "Cognizant Autonomous Customer Engagement" solution, which uses AI agents to handle most customer interactions in contact centers, with human agents intervening for more complex or emotionally nuanced issues. - Cognizant is leveraging its proprietary platforms, including Neuro® AI and the no-code Cognizant Agent Foundry, to build and deploy these agentic solutions, aiming to accelerate value for clients in areas like AI-powered contact centers and intelligent order management. - In a recent Google Cloud hackathon, Cognizant developed over 200 AI agents for various industry business processes, which are now available through its Agent Foundry platform. - This collaboration has already produced tangible results in various sectors, such as reducing healthcare appeals processing time by 25% and boosting RFP productivity by 40% through AI-driven automation. - For internal adoption, Cognizant is deploying Google Workspace with Gemini Enterprise across its own teams to improve productivity and employee experience before rolling out similar combined offerings to clients.
