Warriors extend Curry's injury absence
The Golden State Warriors extended Steph Curry’s injury absence due to a knee injury, but an encouraging update suggests a potential return is on the horizon.
Curry's dealing with right patellofemoral pain syndrome and bone bruising in his right knee. He originally suffered the injury in late January during a game against the Detroit Pistons. Multiple MRIs have shown no structural damage, but the bone bruising has prevented the team from setting a firm return date. The Warriors have been issuing 10-day re-evaluation windows throughout Curry's absence. He also sat out the 2026 All-Star Game to give the knee more rest. Curry has missed the Warriors' last 15 games, and they are 5-10 in that stretch. Golden State is currently 9th in the Western Conference with a 32-32 record. They are just a half-game behind the Los Angeles Clippers. The team has struggled without Curry, falling below .500 for the first time since December. Curry has called the injury "weird" and "kind of unpredictable," but said he's felt better since the All-Star break. He also expressed disappointment in missing the chance to play with his brother, Seth. He will miss upcoming games against the Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, Washington Wizards, Boston Celtics, and Detroit Pistons.
