Massés Sports Bar & Grill is moving into downtown Walnut Creek, with a new location planned at 1411 Locust St. (whatnow.com) The bar announced the move on April 9, and KRON4 reported the new space sits across from Sauced BBQ & Spirits in the former Dia y Noche location. No opening date has been announced. (kron4.com) Massés had operated for 31 years at 2721 North Main St. before closing on Super Bowl Sunday, February 8, according to the business website and local reports. (masseswc.com, patch.com) The move shifts the business from a 10,000-square-foot North Main property to a more central downtown address listed by Walnut Creek Downtown. The downtown directory still describes Massés as a family-friendly sports bar with 25 beers on tap, more than 40 televisions, 10 pool tables, bocce ball and shuffleboard. (kron4.com, walnutcreekdowntown.com) The relocation follows a property sale that changed the future of the old site. Patch reported Fletcher Jones bought the North Main property for $14 million in June 2024, and Walnut Creek approved plans in March 2026 for a Porsche dealership there. (patch.com) That dealership project covers a 2.4-acre site and would include a three-level sales and service center with room for about 123 vehicles inside and 48 more spaces outside. Neighbors told the city they were worried about traffic, noise and lighting near nearby homes. (patch.com) Massés opened in 1994 under Maury and Christine Paden, and the bar became known in Walnut Creek for sports viewing, billiards and large game-day gatherings. KRON4 said community comments on the relocation announcement were largely celebratory. (kron4.com, walnutcreekdowntown.com) For Walnut Creek, the immediate question is timing: the old address is closed, the downtown address is public, and the business says more work is still ahead before the next chapter opens.
