The drone shows, titled "Star-Bound," will feature 22 shows across 11 nights, marking the highest number of drone shows in the festival's history. They are returning to Vivid Sydney for the first time since 2024. The drone show has moved to Cockle Bay to provide a larger viewing area and better crowd management, addressing concerns from previous years at Circular Quay. There were concerns about crowd safety and congestion in 2024. The shows will occur on the quieter days of the week, Sunday through Wednesday, excluding the June long weekend Sunday, with two shows each night. It's understood that the display could feature up to 1,000 drones.
