In contrast, Schwarzman's 2023 compensation was $896.7 million, which was a 30% drop from the previous year, reflecting a slower pace of asset sales. A prominent philanthropist, Schwarzman has signed The Giving Pledge, committing the majority of his wealth to charitable causes. His major donations include a £150 million gift to the University of Oxford for a new humanities center and a foundational $350 million to establish the MIT Schwarzman College of Computing.
