GEEKOM Launches A5 Pro Mini PC
GEEKOM has launched its A5 Pro 2026 Edition, positioning it as the "best $600 mini PC" on the market. The company is marketing the compact desktop as a high-performance machine for daily tasks, competing in the same budget-friendly space as Apple's Mac Mini.
The GEEKOM A5 Pro is built around an AMD Ryzen 5 7530U processor, a 6-core, 12-thread chip that can boost up to 4.5 GHz. It ships with 16GB of DDR4 RAM, which is user-upgradable to 64GB, and includes a 1TB SSD for storage. The unit's physical design is notably compact at just 0.47 liters in volume, making it significantly smaller than a Mac Mini. Connectivity options are extensive, featuring two HDMI 2.0 ports, multiple USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports (both Type-A and Type-C), a 2.5G Ethernet port, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.3. This allows the A5 Pro to drive up to four displays simultaneously, with support for 8K resolution, a key feature for productivity and content consumption. In terms of performance, Geekbench 6 scores show the A5 Pro's single-core performance at 1976, which is competitive with some 13th-gen Intel Core i7 mobile processors. However, it falls short in graphically intensive tasks like 3D rendering and photo editing when compared to more powerful machines. The device utilizes an integrated AMD Radeon Graphics solution. The broader mini PC market is projected to grow significantly, with one forecast predicting an increase to $40.16 billion by 2032, up from $26.68 billion in 2026. This growth is driven by the demand for compact, energy-efficient computing solutions for remote work, education, and digital signage. The market was valued at $22.7 billion in 2023.
