Baby Keem Hits No. 1 First Time

Baby Keem's "Ca$ino" album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart with 72,000 equivalent album units, marking his first chart-topper. The milestone cements Baby Keem's status as a dominant force in contemporary hip-hop after building momentum through previous releases.

The new album, "Ca$ino," features collaborations with Keem's cousin Kendrick Lamar on two tracks, alongside appearances from West Coast legend Too $hort, Che Ecru, and Momo Boyd of Infinity Song. Baby Keem co-produced every track on the album, working with producers like Danja, Cardo, and Sounwave. This chart-topping success follows his 2021 debut studio album, "The Melodic Blue," which landed at number five on the Billboard 200 chart and sold 53,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. That album received generally positive reviews from critics and was certified Platinum by the RIAA in August 2023. A key track from his debut was "Family Ties," his first official collaboration with Kendrick Lamar. The song peaked at number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent 19 weeks on the chart. "Family Ties" went on to win the 2022 Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance, earning Keem his first Grammy. The win made the then 21-year-old the youngest artist to receive a Grammy in a rap category. Both of Baby Keem's studio albums have been released through pgLang, the multidisciplinary media company co-founded by Kendrick Lamar and producer Dave Free. To accompany the "Ca$ino" album, Keem released a multi-part documentary series titled "Booman." Co-produced by Lamar and Free, the series provides an intimate look into Keem's upbringing in Las Vegas and Long Beach.
