Mesh Partners with Adyen for European Expansion

Travel and expense management platform Mesh Payments has partnered with financial technology platform Adyen. The strategic collaboration is intended to strengthen Mesh's payment capabilities and accelerate the scaling of its operations in Europe and the U.K. to support a growing customer base of multinational enterprises.

- Adyen, founded in 2006, operates as a global payments platform with a European banking license, providing a single, integrated system for gateway, risk management, processing, and settlement services. - A key differentiator for Mesh is that its platform can operate alongside a company's existing corporate cards from other global banks, allowing enterprises to use Adyen-powered, Mesh-issued local currency cards in Europe and the UK to eliminate foreign exchange fees without a complete overhaul of their current banking relationships. - The partnership taps into a growing European travel and expense management software market, which one analysis valued at over $1.18 billion in 2023 and projected to reach over $3.77 billion by 2031. - This collaboration follows Mesh's "Mesh Global" initiative, which began in June 2023 to provide a unified platform for multinational companies to manage spending and hold balances in local currencies like the Euro and British Pound. - Adyen’s platform supports payments in over 150 currencies and offers local acquiring services globally, which will bolster Mesh's ability to issue local currency cards and ensure high transaction acceptance rates for its multinational clients. - Adyen's technology includes features like "Store and Forward," which safeguards transactions during network outages; this functionality protected over 45,000 Starbucks transactions in three European markets since August 2025. - The move is aimed at large enterprises, which are the dominant segment in the European travel and expense management market due to their complex operations and high transaction volumes. - Tel Aviv-based Mesh Payments was founded in 2018 by Oded Zehavi and Eran Katoni and focuses on providing cardless corporate payment solutions and spend management software.
