Pantheon Gets Summoner Rework

Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen dropped a major content patch today with a complete Summoner class overhaul and the new Nightfall Crypts dungeon. The rework should shake up group dynamics while the crypts offer fresh high-level challenges.

Developer Visionary Realms acknowledged the Summoner class felt lackluster, citing community feedback on its "boring and cumbersome swarm mechanic" and "subpar pet performance." The rework aims to create a "puppet master" feel, where the primary damage output flows through summoned pets called Arcamentals. The overhaul removes individual mana pools from pets; all pet abilities now draw directly from the Summoner's own mana. The unpopular "Swarm" ability has been converted into a stacking damage-over-time spell, and Summoners have gained new personal offensive abilities like Mana Bomb and Clash Bomb. Players now gain access to two distinct pets at level 1: the ranged magic-dealing Fury and the melee-focused Zephyr. The earth-based Titan pet has been temporarily removed, with plans to reintroduce it as a specialization through the upcoming Mastery system. Beyond combat, the class fantasy is being broadened with the ability to summon consumables, light sources, and temporary items, a nod to more old-school MMORPG utility. The new Nightfall Crypts are a series of "mini-dungeons" intended to be completed by a group in a single session. This design offers an alternative to the game's larger, more traditional dungeons where specific areas may be camped by other players for extended periods. Lore-wise, the crypts were established by a secret order for ritualistic identity removal and mass, unrecorded burials. The dungeon now serves as a prison for a powerful entity named Sarulith and has become an active hub for the undead. This is the first major content patch of the year for *Pantheon*, a game that secured a multimillion-dollar funding round in late 2025 to accelerate development. The update follows some slight delays and introduces long-awaited quality-of-life features like ability loadouts.
