The Michelin Guide announced its 2026 Bib Gourmand selections for Hong Kong and Macau, with eight new restaurants added to the list of affordable, high-quality eateries. Six of the new awardees are in Hong Kong, while Macau sees two new additions: A Lorcha and Nok Song. The full Michelin Guide for Hong Kong and Macau will be revealed on March 19. A Lorcha, a Macanese and Portuguese restaurant located in the Barra area, was previously a Michelin "Selection" and has now been promoted to the Bib Gourmand list. The Michelin Guide highlights dishes such as salted cod fritters, sautéed pork with clams Alentejo-style, and Macanese coconut and turmeric chicken. Nok Song, the other new Macau entrant, is a Thai restaurant known for its fusion dishes using globally sourced ingredients, such as Obsiblue prawns from New Caledonia and Iberian pork collar from Spain. The Bib Gourmand distinction recognizes restaurants offering a multi-course meal for under HK$400 (US$51). This year's Bib Gourmand selection includes 83 restaurants, with 70 in Hong Kong and 13 in Macau. Michelin inspectors evaluate restaurants based on ingredient quality, mastery of cooking techniques, flavor harmony, the chef's personality as expressed in the cuisine, and consistency over time.
