Calipari Hits 900 Career Wins
No. 20 Arkansas outlasted Missouri in overtime, 92-85, delivering a milestone 900th career win for legendary coach John Calipari. The victory gives Arkansas momentum heading into the postseason with a blend of experience and late-season execution under pressure.
John Calipari is now the fifth Division I men's basketball coach to achieve 900 career wins. He joins an elite group that includes Mike Krzyzewski, Jim Boeheim, Rick Pitino, and Roy Williams. At 67, Calipari is the second-youngest coach to reach this milestone, with only Krzyzewski achieving it at a younger age (64). The landmark victory came in his 1,185th career game, making him the third-fastest coach to reach 900 wins. The milestone was reached as his Arkansas team secured an 88-84 overtime victory against Missouri on Saturday, March 7, 2026. This win was particularly notable as Arkansas played without their leading scorer in the Southeastern Conference, Darius Acuff Jr., who was sidelined with an injury. Now in his second season at Arkansas, Calipari's coaching journey includes a 15-year tenure at Kentucky, where he won a national championship in 2012. Before his time at Kentucky, he coached at Memphis for nine seasons and began his head coaching career with an eight-year stint at Massachusetts.
