Ringo Starr Announces New Album
Beatles legend Sir Ringo Starr has announced a new 10-track album, 'Long Long Road', set for release on April 24. The record follows last year's 'Look Up' and reflects Starr's enduring creativity and peace messaging.
The album marks Starr's second collaboration with producer T Bone Burnett, following the commercially successful 'Look Up' in 2025. That album, Starr's first country record in over 50 years, topped the UK Official Country Chart and led to his debut at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. 'Long Long Road' continues the Americana and country-influenced sound, but is said to incorporate a broader range of styles. The first single, "It's Been Too Long," features backing vocals from Americana artists Molly Tuttle and Sarah Jarosz. A roster of notable guest artists contributes to the record, including Sheryl Crow, St. Vincent, and bluegrass guitarist Billy Strings. Strings and Tuttle also appeared on Starr's previous album, 'Look Up'. The album was recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles with a core group of musicians producer T Bone Burnett calls "The Texans." The name is a reference to a skiffle group Ringo played with in Liverpool before joining The Beatles. The tracklist includes a cover of "I Don't See Me In Your Eyes Anymore," a song first performed by Carl Perkins. During his time with The Beatles, Starr famously sang lead on covers of two other Perkins songs, "Honey Don't" and "Matchbox." In support of the new music, Starr will be touring this spring with his current All-Starr Band. The lineup includes Steve Lukather of Toto, Colin Hay from Men at Work, and Hamish Stuart of the Average White Band.
