Air Tahiti Nui Appoints New CEO

Air Tahiti Nui has named Lionel Guérin as its new Chief Executive Officer. The leadership change is expected to position the airline for strategic growth, particularly within the luxury tourism market in the Asia-Pacific region. Guérin's appointment comes as the carrier navigates a competitive international travel landscape.

- Lionel Guérin is an aerospace engineer and licensed airline pilot, with a career that includes roles as a pilot, flight instructor, and head of operational standards at Air France. - He has a track record of founding and leading airlines, including creating the regional airline Airlinair, launching Transavia France as its CEO, and establishing HOP! as its founder and chairman. - In late 2024, Guérin began working with Air Moana, a domestic carrier in French Polynesia, to help guide its development. - Guérin has strong personal connections to French Polynesia, as his wife is Polynesian. - He is also an environmental advocate, having founded the Aéro Biodiversité association in 2015, and is a Knight of the Legion of Honour and an Officer of the French National Order of Merit. - Prior to this appointment, Guérin joined the Air Tahiti Nui Board of Directors in April 2025. - In 2024, Air Tahiti Nui carried 450,462 passengers and generated revenues of approximately USD 287 million.
