Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, located in the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, will close in January 2027 after 16 years. The closure coincides with the end of the restaurant's tenancy at the hotel, a contract extended by six months to reach its 16th anniversary. The restaurant, which opened in 2011, gained a Michelin star within a year and a second in 2013. Ashley Palmer-Watts was head chef at the opening, with Adam Tooby-Desmond taking over in 2023. To mark its final year, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal is launching an eight-course tasting menu called 'A Journey Through History'. The menu will feature reinterpretations of British recipes spanning over five centuries. Classics like Meat Fruit and Tipsy Cake will be included alongside dishes from the restaurant's archive. Dinner by Heston Blumenthal is known for its modern interpretations of historical British gastronomy. Dishes are inspired by cookbooks dating back to the 14th century. The restaurant has welcomed nearly a million guests since its opening. Heston Blumenthal's restaurant group, SL6, includes The Fat Duck, The Hind's Head, and Dinner by Heston Blumenthal Dubai. In 2018, the group experienced deepening losses, attributed to a period of transition. Blumenthal also ended a 12-year partnership with Waitrose in 2023 and is planning a new food line.
