Arctic Monkeys 2026 Tour Kicks Off
Arctic Monkeys launched their much-anticipated 2026 tour with opening night reactions flooding YouTube. Fans described the show as "electric" with crowds knowing every word, and the new tracks landing "just as hard as the classics." The band is blending career-spanning hits with new material while experimenting with multimedia stage visuals.
This tour follows the band's extensive "The Car Tour," which concluded in October 2023 after 119 shows across North America, South America, Europe, and Oceania. That tour supported their seventh studio album, *The Car*, noted for its intricate, orchestrated, and less commercially mainstream sound. The new material being played on the 2026 tour comes after a nearly four-year gap in new music from the band. Their last album, *The Car*, was released in October 2022, continuing the lounge-pop and psychedelic direction established on 2018's *Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino*. In January 2026, the band released the track "Opening Night" as part of the War Child charity compilation album "HELP(2)". This marked their first new song since the release of *The Car* and was recorded at Abbey Road Studios. The timing of the tour is significant, as 2026 marks the 20th anniversary of their seminal debut album, "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not." This milestone adds context to the setlists that are blending new tracks with career-spanning classics. The band's lineup has remained stable for years, consisting of Alex Turner, Jamie Cook, Nick O'Malley, and Matt Helders. They are frequently joined on stage by long-time touring members and collaborators like Tom Rowley and Tyler Parkford, who also contributed to their recent albums. Previous tours have featured a strong roster of support acts, including Fontaines D.C., The Hives, and Miles Kane. Kane, a frequent collaborator with frontman Alex Turner, has opened for the band both as a solo artist and with his former groups The Little Flames and The Rascals.
