Dave Conquers London O2
UK rapper Dave transcended his rapper status at a triumphant London O2 show — his first London gig in four years. The hometown performance was praised for its dynamism and stagecraft, cementing Dave's influence as a leading British artist.
The tour, titled "The Boy Who Played the Harp," supports his third studio album of the same name, which was released in October 2025. This album follows his critically acclaimed predecessors, 2019's "Psychodrama" and 2021's "We're All Alone In This Together," both of which topped UK album charts. The O2 concerts are part of a wider UK arena tour, his first since 2022, with additional dates in Birmingham and Manchester. Brixton-born Dave, full name David Orobosa Omoregie, has established himself as a formidable force in the UK music scene over the last decade. His 2019 debut album, "Psychodrama," won the prestigious Mercury Prize, noted for its profound lyrical depth and therapeutic narrative. His sophomore album continued this success, becoming a platinum-selling record. The artist is known for breaking records. His 2023 collaboration with Central Cee, "Sprinter," became the longest-running #1 rap record in UK chart history, holding the top spot for 10 weeks. This followed his 2022 single "Starlight," which was the longest-running No. 1 solo UK track and the first to be solely written and produced by the artist in eight years. On stage, Dave is recognized for his versatility, often switching between rapping and playing the piano and guitar. His live performances are described as powerful and immersive, blending high-energy anthems with introspective and emotionally charged moments, a reflection of the thematic duality in his music which explores fame and wealth alongside political consciousness and mental health.
