Raken and Bluebeam Integrate Construction Software
Construction management platform Raken has announced a new product integration with Bluebeam, a leading provider of digital collaboration tools for the A/E/C industry. The partnership aims to create more seamless workflows between the field and the office for construction projects.
The integration zeroes in on the Request for Information (RFI) process, a frequent source of delays. Field and office personnel can create RFIs in Raken, which then automatically initiates a Bluebeam Studio Session for all stakeholders to mark up and review the relevant PDF documents. Once a markup session in Bluebeam is complete, the edited documents are automatically saved back to the RFI within Raken. This closed-loop system ensures that the field crew has immediate access to the latest information without the need for manual downloading or uploading of files. This partnership fits into both companies' strategies of integrating with other key construction software. Raken already connects with various accounting, payroll, and cloud storage systems, including those from Sage and Deltek. Bluebeam, similarly, offers a range of integrations with project management tools like Procore and document management systems like SharePoint. The collaboration addresses a critical industry-wide challenge: the disconnect between field and office teams. Poor communication is a major contributor to project delays and rework, with some studies attributing over 30% of project failures to this issue. Raken's primary focus is as a "field-first" mobile platform for daily reports, time cards, and safety observations. Bluebeam Revu, on the other hand, is the industry standard for PDF creation, markup, and digital collaboration among design and construction professionals. This integration links the field data capture with the primary tool for document collaboration.
