T.I. Back in Top 40
T.I. just re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 Top 40 with "LET EM KNOW," marking a career resurgence for the Atlanta rapper. He addressed his recent 50 Cent beef, saying he didn't want his kids involved but was proud his sons defended their mom. The track's success comes as T.I. reflects on staying relevant in today's rap landscape.
The track "LET EM KNOW," produced by Pharrell Williams, is the lead single from T.I.'s forthcoming final album, "Kill the King." The song's success was powered by strong radio airplay, surging to No. 1 on the Mediabase urban radio chart with over 5,300 spins in a single week. "LET EM KNOW" debuted at number 83 on the Billboard Hot 100 before climbing to a peak of 38. This marks T.I.'s highest-charting single since "No Mediocre" in 2014. The song also performed well in digital sales, reaching No. 1 on the Hip-Hop sales chart and No. 3 on the main U.S. iTunes chart. The recent feud with 50 Cent reignited after T.I. claimed on the "Nightcap" podcast that 50 Cent was avoiding a Verzuz battle he had previously agreed to. In response, 50 Cent posted an unflattering picture of T.I.'s wife, Tameka "Tiny" Harris, which escalated the conflict from a musical challenge to a personal one. T.I.'s sons, King and Domani Harris, both entered the fray by releasing their own diss tracks aimed at 50 Cent. Domani's track, titled "Ms. Jackson," was noted for its witty approach, posing 21 questions directed at 50 Cent's mother. The younger son, King, took a more confrontational stance, releasing two diss tracks and posting aggressive videos online. However, T.I. stated his son went too far after King wore a T-shirt featuring an image of 50 Cent's deceased mother. T.I. publicly expressed his disapproval of the T-shirt, stating in an interview, "I said that's enough when I seen that damn T-shirt... I'm big on treating people the way I want to be treated."
