Airbus said on July 21 that it has begun a new phase of its Wing of Tomorrow research program, using an A321neo as a flying testbed for full-scale wing extensions aimed at future single-aisle aircraft. The company said the three-year campaign will study how higher-span wing geometries behave in real flight conditions rather than only in simulations or wind tunnels.
