Oakland Restaurant Week, which started in 2010, is presented by Visit Oakland, a non-profit organization that promotes Oakland as a travel destination. This year’s event, running from March 12-22, includes over 140 participating restaurants. Oakland was named the #1 Best Food City in the U.S. by Condé Nast Traveler readers in both 2024 and 2025. Participating restaurants offer special menus and pricing, with lunch options at $15, $25, or $35, and dinner options at $35, $45, or $65. Visit Oakland is encouraging restaurants to get creative this year, suggesting DJ-hosted dinners, interactive art, and unique Restaurant Week cocktails. Oakland boasts 24 Michelin-recognized restaurants, including Burdell, Millennium, and MAMA Oakland. Chef Geoff Davis's Burdell was also named 2024 Restaurant of the Year by Food & Wine magazine.
