RayNeo Unveils Batman-Themed AR Glasses
Augmented reality company RayNeo has unveiled a special Batman Edition of its new RayNeo Air 4 Pro smart glasses at MWC 2026. The new model, available for purchase since February 27, represents a push by AR hardware makers to use major entertainment franchises to attract mainstream consumers.
The collaboration includes two distinct models: the "Limited Justice Edition" themed after Batman and the "Chaos Edition" inspired by the Joker. The key cosmetic feature is a lightweight, detachable lens shade that snaps onto the front of the glasses to resemble each character's visage, complemented by a Batman logo on the temple. The standard RayNeo Air 4 Pro carries a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $299, while the special Batman editions are priced at a $20 premium for $319. However, launch promotions have brought the prices down to $249 for the standard model and $269 for the themed versions. Underneath the themed exterior, the hardware is identical to the standard model, projecting a virtual 201-inch Micro-OLED screen in front of the user's eyes. RayNeo claims the Air 4 Pro is the world's first pair of AR glasses to support HDR10, enabling a display of 10.7 billion colors with a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. For audio, parent company TCL collaborated with high-end Danish brand Bang & Olufsen to tune the glasses' four-speaker sound system. This is an upgrade from the dual-speaker setup found in previous RayNeo models. The glasses function by mirroring the screen of a connected device via a USB-C cable. They are compatible with smartphones, laptops, PCs, and gaming consoles like the Nintendo Switch 2. This partnership represents a broader trend of AR companies targeting mainstream consumers through entertainment tie-ins. RayNeo, which held a 24% global market share in the third quarter of 2025, is using this collaboration to differentiate itself from competitors like Xreal in the growing smart glasses market.
