Jill Scott Hits No. 1
Jill Scott's comeback single "Pressha" has reached No. 1 at R&B radio, marking a major milestone in her return to the spotlight. The track's success demonstrates both Scott's enduring appeal and the appetite for authentic, soulful music in today's R&B scene.
"Pressha" is the second single from Jill Scott's sixth studio album, *To Whom This May Concern*, which was released on February 13, 2026. This marks her first full-length album in over a decade, following 2015's *Woman*. The new album features a diverse range of collaborators, including rappers Tierra Whack, J.I.D., and Too Short, with production from notable names like DJ Premier and Adam Blackstone. The single was co-produced by Scott herself, alongside Adam Blackstone and Vincent "VT" Tolan. Lyrically, the song addresses the pressures of conforming to societal beauty and status standards. The recently released music video for "Pressha" features cameos from actors Tasha Smith, Niecy Nash-Betts, and Tyler Lepley, and brings the song's narrative of private desire versus public acknowledgment to life. This marks a significant return to the top of the charts for the three-time Grammy winner. Her last No. 1 hits on the Adult R&B chart were "So in Love" featuring Anthony Hamilton and "Blessed," both from her 2011 album *The Light of the Sun*. That album also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. In the years leading up to her musical return, Scott has remained active in other creative fields. She has continued her acting career with roles in film and television and celebrated the 20th anniversary of her debut album, *Who Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds Vol. 1*, with a sold-out tour in 2023. Looking ahead, Jill Scott is scheduled to perform at the HBCU Aware Fest in Atlanta in March 2026.
