Indian AI Firm Neysa Raises $1.2B in Mega-Round
Indian AI infrastructure company Neysa has raised $1.2 billion in one of the largest recent funding rounds for the sector globally. The investment signals strong investor appetite for foundational AI platforms and infrastructure. The deal underscores a trend of massive capital injections into companies building the core components of the AI ecosystem.
- The $1.2 billion figure consists of up to $600 million in equity led by private equity firm Blackstone, with plans to secure an additional $600 million in debt financing. Upon completion, Blackstone will become the majority stakeholder in the company. - This funding makes Neysa India's second unicorn of 2026, with a reported valuation of approximately $1.4 billion. This represents a significant increase from its $128 million valuation during its Series A funding round in October 2024. - The capital is earmarked to drastically scale the company's GPU capacity from around 1,200 to over 20,000 units. This expansion directly supports the "sovereign AI" trend and the goals of the IndiaAI Mission, which emphasizes keeping data and compute infrastructure within the country. - Neysa was founded in 2023 by CEO Sharad Sanghi and CTO Anindya Das, who previously founded Netmagic, one of India's largest data center companies, which was acquired by NTT. - The company provides a full-stack AI cloud platform, giving customers access to high-demand GPUs like NVIDIA's H100 and H200 chips and AMD's MI300X. Its product suite includes platforms named Velocis for deployment, Overwatch for observability, and Aegis for securing AI pipelines. - Other equity investors in the round include Teachers' Venture Growth, TVS Capital, 360 One Asset, and existing investor Nexus Venture Partners. Prior to this mega-round, Neysa had raised a $20 million seed round and a $30 million Series A. - Neysa's client roster already includes prominent Indian companies such as Justpay, Swiggy, and Perfios. The company's focus is on enabling enterprises, government bodies, and startups to securely train, fine-tune, and deploy AI models within India.
