Pathlock Integrates with ServiceNow
Identity and Access Governance provider Pathlock announced an integration with the ServiceNow AI Platform. The partnership is designed to embed risk-aware governance directly into enterprise workflows, enabling more secure and compliant access requests for users of ServiceNow's platform.
- The integration allows access requests to remain within ServiceNow as the "front door," while Pathlock's engine works in the background to perform Segregation of Duties (SoD) and sensitive-access checks before any access is granted. - Founded in 2004, Pathlock has raised a total of $220 million in funding and serves over 1,200 customers, including major enterprises like Boeing, Chevron, and Ralph Lauren. - This partnership embeds Pathlock's identity governance and administration (IGA) capabilities directly into ServiceNow workflows, automating user provisioning and creating a full audit trail of all access-related actions. - ServiceNow's AI Platform functions as a Platform as a Service (PaaS) to automate business processes across an enterprise using a single data model, with tools like Now Assist for generative AI and a low-code App Engine. - "Risk-aware" access governance is a strategic approach that moves beyond static roles to continuously assess risk based on factors like data sensitivity, user behavior, and regulatory impact before making access decisions. - Automating access governance helps prevent "privilege creep," where employees accumulate unnecessary access rights over time, a significant security risk. - The integration enriches ServiceNow's Configuration Management Database (CMDB) with identity-related data, adding a layer of risk-awareness to IT operational data. - Pathlock's growth strategy included a $200 million funding round in May 2022, which coincided with its merger with Appsian and Security Weaver, and the acquisition of CSI Tools and SAST Solutions to expand its capabilities.
