Fremont Creates will bring a makerspace, art workshops and a pop-up market to Fremont’s Downtown Event Center & Plaza on Sunday, April 26. (tricityvoice.com) The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 3500 Capitol Ave., with programming inside the Downtown Event Center and on the plaza. The City of Fremont calendar lists it as the Fremont Creates Pop-Up Art Market. (fremont.gov) Fremont Creates said more than 20 local artists will sell work directly to the public, while the makerspace will be open for “kids of all ages.” The group also said two hands-on workshops for adults age 15 and older are new this year. (tricityvoice.com) The April 26 event is positioned as the wrap-up for Fremont’s April is Arts, Culture & Creativity Month, a citywide slate of arts programming. Fremont Creates’ calendar calls the pop-up market the closing event for that monthlong campaign. (fremontcreates.com) Fremont Creates has been building that April arts calendar over the past several years. Tri-City Voice reported the local version of Arts, Culture & Creativity Month got underway in 2023 and expanded in 2024 with a free grand finale at the Downtown Event Center. (tricityvoice.com) This year’s event adds a market format to the existing makerspace model. Fremont Creates described the Artists’ Pop-Up Market as new for 2026 and opened participation to local artists through a registration process. (fremontcreates.com, fremontcreates.com) The April 26 program also includes live performance around the market. Fremont Creates said visitors can expect live jazz while browsing, plus an outdoor performance by Wadaiko Newark taiko drummers. (tricityvoice.com) The weekend is part of a broader downtown arts push. Tri-City Voice reported the City of Fremont is also presenting a free “Downtown Dance” event at the Downtown Event Center on Saturday, April 25, one day before the makerspace and market. (tricityvoice.com) For Fremont, the April 26 event puts hands-on making, artist sales and live performance in one daytime program at a civic venue downtown. Fremont Creates and the city calendar both direct visitors to check the event page for details before Sunday. (fremontcreates.com, fremont.gov)
