Zoomlion Ships $1.2B in Equipment to Start 2026

Chinese industrial equipment manufacturer Zoomlion has announced a strong start to the year, shipping $1.2 billion worth of equipment globally. The company delivered over 15,000 units to customers in more than 40 international markets. The shipments serve as an indicator of global demand in the construction and heavy industry sectors.

This shipment is part of a broader global expansion for Zoomlion, which saw its overseas revenue in 2023 reach $2.47 billion, a 79.2% year-over-year increase. The company's international sales now account for nearly 40% of its total revenue. Based in Changsha, China, Zoomlion is a major player in the global construction machinery market, competing with the likes of XCMG, Sany, and US-based Caterpillar. The company has been actively growing its presence in over 140 countries, with a particular focus on markets in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. The global heavy construction equipment market is on an upward trend, with projections to surpass $286 billion by 2030. Key drivers for this growth include increasing urbanization, substantial government investments in infrastructure, and a rising demand for more sustainable and technologically advanced equipment. Zoomlion has a significant North American presence, including a research and development, and sales and marketing office located in Yorkville, Wisconsin. The company also operates facilities in Houston, Texas, as well as in Canada and Mexico to support its regional customers. In Rhode Island, the construction industry is a notable contributor to the state's economy, accounting for $3 billion of the state's GDP and employing over 22,000 people as of mid-2025. The state's industrial real estate sector is experiencing low vacancy rates, and demand is expected to remain strong. This is supported by significant infrastructure spending, including federal funds from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which has allocated billions for projects in Rhode Island, such as the rebuilding of the Washington Bridge.
