Victoria Monét Drops New Single
Victoria Monét is kicking off her next musical era with the new single “Let Me.” She describes the song as an invitation for partners to embrace vulnerability and openness. The track signals a new chapter of empowerment for Monét as an artist and a new mother.
Monét's latest release follows a monumental year that saw her take home three Grammy Awards in February 2024. She won Best New Artist, Best R&B Album, and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, for her debut studio album, *JAGUAR II*. In her acceptance speech for Best New Artist, Monét described her journey as a "15-year pursuit," having moved to Los Angeles in 2009 to start her career. The success of *JAGUAR II*, which was released on August 25, 2023, and its hit single "On My Mama" marked a significant commercial breakthrough for the singer. Before her breakout as a solo artist, Monét established herself as a powerhouse songwriter for some of pop and R&B's biggest names. She has penned tracks for artists like Ariana Grande, co-writing hits such as "thank u, next" and "7 rings." Her extensive songwriting credits also include "Do It" by Chloe x Halle, "Ice Cream" by BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez, and several songs for Fifth Harmony. Her work with Grande on the album *Thank U, Next* previously earned her three Grammy nominations in 2019. The 2024 Grammy nominations also included a historic moment for Monét's family. Her daughter, Hazel, became the youngest Grammy nominee in history for her feature on the song "Hollywood" from *JAGUAR II*.
