Pricer Launches In-Store Communications Platform

Pricer has announced Pricer Avenue™, a new communications platform designed to create high-impact experiences at the retail shelf-edge. The platform will be showcased at the EuroShop 2026 trade show in Düsseldorf, Germany. The technology aims to help retailers enhance engagement in prioritized areas of their stores.

- The platform is battery-free, utilizing a powered rail architecture that provides continuous connectivity and power. This design is intended to support future IoT devices, sensors, and AI-driven solutions at the shelf edge. - A key feature is the "Floating Canvas," which allows retailers to link multiple electronic shelf labels together to create larger, cohesive digital displays for more effective brand storytelling and merchandising. - Unlike traditional store-wide deployments, Pricer Avenue is designed for selective use in high-impact areas such as premium aisles, branded bays, or zones with frequent promotions. The system uses a snap-and-lock rail that allows staff to reconfigure label layouts without changing shelf fittings. - Pricer, a Swedish company founded in 1991, is an established leader in the electronic shelf label (ESL) market, having sold more than 380 million labels to over 28,000 stores globally. The new platform integrates with Pricer Plaza, the company's cloud-based management software launched in 2020. - The system has already moved beyond the pilot phase, with the first commercial installation completed at an East of England (EoE) Co-op store in the United Kingdom. - At the EuroShop 2026 event, Pricer's leadership, including CEO Magnus Larsson and CCO Kajsa Blixth, will host a roundtable discussion with Dutch retailer PLUS about how smart stores can win shoppers. - The launch occurs as the global Electronic Shelf Label market is projected to grow significantly, with one market analysis forecasting it to reach $3.78 billion by 2030. Key drivers for the market's growth include the retail industry's increasing adoption of automation and the need for dynamic pricing strategies. - The technology is being showcased at EuroShop 2026, a trade fair where major themes include leveraging AI, digital signage, and other technologies to address retail challenges like rising costs, labor shortages, and growing customer expectations.
