Utah Jazz Signs Mo Bamba

The Utah Jazz are signing Mo Bamba to a 10-day contract to add frontcourt depth during their challenging post-All-Star period. The NBA has responded to tanking concerns regarding the Jazz's intentions, with league sources monitoring the team's roster moves and competitive approach.

This marks a return to Utah for Bamba, who signed with the Jazz in September 2025 before being waived after training camp. He then joined their NBA G League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars, where he has been a standout performer. Playing for the Stars, the 7-foot center has demonstrated his capabilities, averaging 16.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game during the G League regular season. Bamba was originally the sixth overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic, largely due to his impressive 7-foot-10 wingspan. He spent his first five seasons in Orlando, with his best year in 2021-22, where he averaged 10.6 points and 8.1 rebounds. Since leaving the Magic in 2023, the 27-year-old has been on the move. He has had brief stints with the Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Clippers, New Orleans Pelicans, and most recently, the Toronto Raptors, for whom he appeared in two games earlier this season.
