Long Beach’s downtown street circuit shifts into race day Sunday, with the Acura Grand Prix headlining a three-day motorsports weekend that runs until 5 p.m. local time. (gplb.com) The main IndyCar race is scheduled for 2:45 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, after a 10 a.m. warm-up and a 1:30 p.m. pre-race program. IndyCar’s own weekend sheet lists the 90-lap race at 2:30 p.m. Pacific, with live coverage beginning at 2 p.m. on FOX. (gplb.com) (indycar.com) Saturday set the grid: Felix Rosenqvist won the pole for Meyer Shank Racing, giving the team its second IndyCar pole and extending what IndyCar called its strong start to the 2026 season. The Long Beach event is Round 5 of the 2026 NTT IndyCar Series. (indycar.com) (gplb.com) This is not a one-race day. Sunday’s card also includes Historic Sports Car Challenge race No. 2 at 9:20 a.m., Porsche Carrera Cup race No. 2 at 11:20 a.m., Stadium Super Trucks race No. 2 at 12:15 p.m., and the Mornings CARnival parade at 12:55 p.m. (gplb.com) The Long Beach weekend has become a mixed street-racing festival built around IndyCar, sports cars, trucks, drifting and concerts. Official event organizers also scheduled the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship on Saturday, plus Formula Drift’s Super Drift Challenge on Friday and Saturday nights. The Grand Prix website says the race brings nearly $100 million in economic impact to the region, and the grounds include the free AAA Travel Lifestyle Expo alongside paid grandstand and general-admission areas. (gplb.com 1) (gplb.com 2) This year follows a change in ownership. Penske Entertainment bought the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach in November 2024, adding the race to the same company’s IndyCar portfolio before the event entered its sixth decade. (indycar.com) (indycar.com) The race also arrives one year after the event’s 50th anniversary celebration in April 2025, which organizers said would carry into 2026 with expanded fan activities and new Premium Pit Row Suites on Shoreline Drive. (gplb.com) (gplb.com) For fans still deciding, Sunday reserved-seat tickets were listed at $127 to $144 for adults, while Sunday general admission was listed at $113 and three-day general admission at $151. By late this weekend, the ticket page showed Saturday reserved seating sold out. (gplb.com) By late Sunday afternoon, the streets around Shoreline Drive will have hosted another full Long Beach race day — the same downtown loop that has made this the longest-running major street race in North America.
