Arnold Strongman Classic Day One Leaders

Mitchell Hooper and Austin Andrade lead the men's competition after day one of the 2026 Arnold Strongman Classic, while Olga Liashchuk and Angelica Jardine top the women's field. The contest remains wide open with several events still to come in both divisions.

Mitchell Hooper, the three-time defending champion, built his lead with a dominant 981-pound Elephant Bar Deadlift victory and a tie for first in the Cyr Dumbbell Challenge. His consistency across the first two events positioned him as the early favorite. Austin Andrade countered Hooper's strong start by winning the day's final event, the Stone to Shoulder. Andrade, known for his deadlifting prowess, also secured a second-place finish in that event with a 976-pound pull. The tie sets up a dramatic second day of competition for the men. Hooper is chasing his fourth consecutive Arnold title, a feat that would further solidify his legacy in the sport. In the women's field, the co-leaders are both former champions of this event. Angelica Jardine is the 2024 winner, while Olga Liashchuk previously won back-to-back titles in 2019 and 2020. The two women have a history of close battles, having finished second and third at the 2025 Arnold Strongwoman Classic. Just behind them in third place is the 2025 champion, Inez Carrasquillo, who sits only two points off the lead. Saturday's remaining events will test the athletes' endurance and movement. Both the men and women will face The Stone Drag, the Austrian/American Oak lift, and the punishing Ramp Rage, a sandbag race up a 30-foot incline.
