Fremont-Based Privacera Rebrands to Trust3 AI

Fremont's Privacera has rebranded and launched as Trust3 AI. The company is positioning its new platform as the first unified agentic governance solution for enterprises needing to manage complex AI and data security needs.

The new Trust3 AI platform is engineered to manage the risks associated with large language models and generative AI, such as data privacy violations, intellectual property misuse, and regulatory non-compliance. Its technology includes real-time enforcement of data and safety policies, end-to-end traceability for AI systems, and customizable guardrails to mitigate hallucinations and PII leaks. The company's founders, CEO Balaji Ganesan and CTO Don Bosco Durai, are the original creators of Apache Ranger, which emerged from their previous company, XA Secure. XA Secure was acquired by Hortonworks, which then open-sourced the technology that has become a standard for data security in big data environments. Privacera has a history of significant venture capital backing, having raised a total of $63.5 million over three funding rounds. Its last major funding event was a $50 million Series B round in March 2021, led by Insight Partners with participation from investors like Accel and Point72 Ventures. The rebranding to Trust3 AI positions the company in the rapidly growing AI governance market, which is projected to expand from $0.89 billion in 2024 to $5.78 billion by 2029. This market growth is driven by increasing AI adoption and the need to manage risks like algorithmic bias and data privacy. Trust3 AI's platform is designed to provide a unified trust layer for AI agents, integrating with enterprise systems like SAP, ServiceNow, and Salesforce. A partnership with Celebal Technologies aims to embed this trust layer directly into agentic AI frameworks, ensuring that automated actions are governed and aligned with business logic. Technologically, Trust3 AI leverages AI model introspection, reinforcement learning for compliance, and data lineage tracing to build trust into AI pipelines. The platform is built to align with emerging regulatory frameworks such as the NIST AI RMF and the EU AI Act.
