Faye Toogood has designed a new bed for Poltrona Frau ahead of Salone del Mobile 2026 in Milan. (wallpaper.com) The piece is called the Lie Low bed, and Wallpaper* reported on April 13 that Poltrona Frau will show it during Milan Design Week. The launch also includes a matching bedside table. (wallpaper.com) Salone del Mobile.Milano runs from April 21 to April 26, 2026, at the Milan Rho exhibition center. The fair’s 64th edition will host more than 1,900 exhibitors across more than 169,000 square meters, according to the organizer. (salonemilano.it) The bed extends a partnership that started in 2024, when Toogood made her Poltrona Frau debut with the Squash collection. That earlier line included mirrors, rugs and an armchair, and it pushed the company’s leather upholstery into softer, more sculptural forms. (wallpaper.com) (poltronafrau.com) For Poltrona Frau, the bed puts its core material in the foreground. Wallpaper* said Toogood chose leather that “crinkle and gather” instead of being pulled tight, shifting the brand’s usual precision finish toward a more rumpled, informal look. (wallpaper.com) Toogood said she has been working with Poltrona Frau’s artisans for “a couple of years now” and wanted to use their leather craft in “new ways of thinking about process and material.” She said the wrinkled leather gives the bed “movement and malleability.” (wallpaper.com) The design also fits Toogood’s broader practice, which moves between sculpture, furniture and fashion. Her studio describes her as a British artist working across disciplines, while Poltrona Frau says her furniture is defined by a sculptural approach and an “outsider” stance that resists one category.
