Boracay hotel earns Michelin recognition

The Lind Boracay has become Boracay’s only Michelin‑recognized hotel and is launching Yím, a chef‑led Thai dining concept tied to that recognition. Nomad Lawyer reports the property is using the Michelin nod to expand its culinary offering. (nomadlawyer.org)

The Lind Boracay is now the only hotel on Boracay listed by the Michelin Guide, and it is using that recognition to roll out a new Thai restaurant called Yím. (guide.michelin.com, thelindhotels.com) Michelin’s hotel page lists The Lind Boracay as a 118-room property on Station 1, White Beach, with direct beachfront access and balconies in every room. The hotel’s own site identifies it as a five-star resort in Barangay Balabag, Malay, Aklan. (guide.michelin.com, thelindhotels.com) The new restaurant is already live on the hotel’s website. Yím, which the hotel says means “smile” in Thai, serves Thai dishes in an indoor dining room with an open bar and an outdoor seating area, and it operates daily from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (thelindhotels.com, thelindhotels.com) The Michelin recognition matters because Boracay is better known as a beach destination than as a Michelin-address island, and the Guide’s hotel selection is separate from Michelin stars for restaurants. Michelin’s own site says its hotel coverage includes “the world’s best hotels,” alongside its restaurant awards and Michelin Key program. (guide.michelin.com, guide.michelin.com) Several March and April 2026 reports say The Lind received its Michelin Guide recommendation in 2025, during the resort’s tenth year, and remains the only Boracay property with that listing. Those reports also describe Yím as part of a broader food-and-beverage push as the hotel enters its second decade. (philippinesgraphic.com.ph, theartsshelf.com, thediarist.ph) The hotel is also building Thai dining around more than one format. Its April promotion calendar includes a Thai Street Food Buffet, while a separate Yím specials page advertised a March menu built around curries, grilled dishes, salads, and a coconut-tamarind dessert. (thelindhotels.com, thelindhotels.com) That gives The Lind a clearer pitch at the top end of Boracay tourism: a Michelin-listed stay paired with a branded dining concept inside the resort, rather than relying only on the island’s beach traffic. The next test is whether Yím becomes a draw beyond hotel guests on Station 1. (guide.michelin.com, thelindhotels.com, thetraveler.org)
