Craft Contemporary’s CLAY LA returns to Los Angeles this weekend for its ninth edition, with a ceramic marketplace opening Saturday, April 25, and Sunday, April 26. (craftcontemporary.org) The event is at Craft Contemporary, 5814 Wilshire Blvd., with market hours from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. Saturday is included with the museum’s $9 admission, and Sunday is pay-what-you-wish. (craftcontemporary.org) A ticketed preview night starts the weekend on Friday, April 24, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with first access to shop, complimentary refreshments, music, and one opportunity drawing ticket per attendee. General admission is $20, and members pay $15. (craftcontemporary.org) Craft Contemporary describes CLAY LA as its signature ceramic marketplace and fundraiser, built around sales, workshops, and exhibitions tied to the museum’s ceramics programming. The museum says hundreds of artists and thousands of visitors have taken part over the years. (craftcontemporary.org) This year’s market brings together emerging and established ceramic artists from across Los Angeles, with vendors including Angel Prudencio, Chunmei Ceramics, FHAR Studio, Greg Lowe Arts, People’s Pottery Project, Tierra del Sol, and Yunting Ceramics. Craft Contemporary lists more than two dozen participating artists and studios. (craftcontemporary.org) The weekend also includes free drop-in air-dry clay activities from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day, using materials donated by Laguna Clay & Glaze Co. The museum is also running a daily opportunity drawing for select works from participating artists, with extra entries sold in person for $5. (craftcontemporary.org) PBS SoCal included CLAY LA in its picks for the week of April 20-26, calling it a chance to meet local makers from across Los Angeles. Its event listing places the preview in the museum’s outdoor courtyard. (pbssocal.org) The market lands while Craft Contemporary is also presenting exhibitions including “Material Curiosity by Design: Evelyn & Jerome Ackerman” through May 10, 2026. That means weekend visitors can shop ceramics and see the museum’s current shows in the same visit. (craftcontemporary.org) For a museum that keeps regular public hours only Wednesday through Sunday, CLAY LA turns a normal April weekend into a three-day push for sales, attendance, and donor support. By Sunday evening, the clay leaves the kiln and goes home with buyers. (craftcontemporary.org, craftcontemporary.org)
