Shoreditch mural by Busk, Switch
A large-scale mural in Shoreditch, London, was painted directly on a brick wall by artists Busk and Mr. Oliver Switch [https://x.com/i/status/2031423394214981787].
The mural is part of a larger collaborative project called "Connectivity Matters," organized by Global Street Art. Sixteen artists, working in pairs, created eight distinct sections exploring the theme of connectivity. Busk and Switch's contribution depicts a "Vanitas" painting, a style of art that reflects on life and death. They used objects like an ammonite shell and a copy of Darwin's "On the Origin of Species" to represent connectivity through time. Peter Linde Busk, born in Copenhagen in 1973, is known for art that explores the relationship between figuration and abstraction. Oliver Switch has a less prominent exhibition history, with his only verified exhibition being "Art in the age of now" in London in 2021. The "Connectivity Matters" mural transformed the Colt Technology building in Shoreditch, using 250 liters of black paint and over 500 cans of spray paint. The building's owner, a communications company, chose the theme to reflect their business.
