Breakaway Festival Returns to Minnesota

This marks the third consecutive year for Breakaway at St. Paul's Allianz Field, solidifying its presence in the Twin Cities' summer music scene. The festival is part of a larger national tour, which has expanded to 13 cities in 2026, making it the largest national touring festival in the U.S. The 2026 lineup extends beyond the headliners, featuring a deep roster of electronic talent. Attendees can expect performances from Gryffin, Knock2, Adventure Club, Sub Focus, and Malaa, among many others, offering a wide range of sub-genres within the EDM landscape. Headliner Zedd returns to the festival circuit following the 2024 release of his third studio album, "Telos," his first full-length project in nearly a decade. The Grammy-winning artist's latest work features collaborations with artists like John Mayer and Muse, and he supported the album with a multi-city North American tour. Allianz Field, with a soccer capacity of approximately 19,400, has become the festival's established home. In response to noise complaints from the 2024 event which generated over 200 calls to law enforcement, organizers planned to reorient the main stage towards the stadium itself for the 2025 festival to help absorb the sound. The festival has become a significant local event, with the 2025 edition expected to draw around 12,000 attendees each day. This projection highlights the growing demand for large-scale EDM events in Minnesota. Past lineups in Minnesota have featured major international DJs. The inaugural 2024 festival was headlined by Illenium and Kaskade, while the 2025 event brought acts like Tiësto and John Summit to St. Paul, demonstrating Breakaway's consistent booking of top-tier talent.
