DigitalOcean announced the AI Factory at NVIDIA GTC on March 16, 2026 in a blog post authored by Chief Product & Technology Officer Vinay Kumar. (digitalocean.com) The company said it is opening a new Richmond data center provisioned with NVIDIA HGX B300 systems to support massive-scale model deployments and inference workloads. (builtin.com) DigitalOcean reported it shipped a production-ready 1-Click Droplet to its Marketplace in under 36 hours and that the open-source agent OpenClaw has driven more than 43,000 total deployments with over 11,000 active in production today. (digitalocean.com) The company said it’s collaborating with NVIDIA on an open-source stack called NVIDIA NemoClaw and an NVIDIA OpenShell runtime to simplify running always-on assistants and secure agent deployments with a single command. (digitalocean.com) DigitalOcean’s 2026 Currents survey of more than 1,100 developers, CTOs, and founders found 67% of organizations using agents reported productivity gains, 60% view applications and agents as the greatest long-term value, only 10% are scaling agents in production, and 49% cite high inference costs as the top blocker. (venturebeat.com) As part of the AI Factory rollout, DigitalOcean said it will expand its open-source model catalog and integrate NVIDIA Dynamo 1.0 plus an agent-building toolkit to support agentic workflows on its NVIDIA-native stack.
