Better Lovers Drops Greg Puciato
Supergroup Better Lovers announced the departure of vocalist Greg Puciato, stating the band is "moving in another direction." The lineup change reflects the frequent collaborations and shifts common in the alt-rock scene.
- The remaining members of Better Lovers—guitarists Jordan Buckley and Will Putney, bassist Stephen Micciche, and drummer Clayton Holyoak—are currently writing a new album and searching for a new vocalist. - Greg Puciato has since confirmed the split was amicable, stating there is "No bad blood" and that he is "rooting for them all collectively and individually." - The band formed in early 2023 from the ashes of the acrimonious 2022 breakup of Every Time I Die, featuring three of its former members. - With Puciato, the band released one EP, "God Made Me an Animal" (2023), and one full-length album, "Highly Irresponsible" (2024). - Puciato is known for his prolific work across multiple genres, including fronting the electronic group The Black Queen and the metal supergroup Killer Be Killed, which features members of Mastodon and Soulfly. - He also maintains a solo career and has been serving as a touring vocalist for Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell. - Shortly before the announcement, Puciato had announced a reunion tour with his project The Black Queen, which is scheduled to start in May 2026.
