Audi issued an official press release on March 20, 2026 stating Jonathan Wheatley is leaving the Audi Revolut F1 Team “with immediate effect” for personal reasons. ( ) Multiple outlets reported Aston Martin interest in Wheatley in the days before the announcement, and Motorsport.com reported he was set to join Aston Martin as part of that team’s senior reshuffle. ( ) Audi CEO Gernot Döllner publicly thanked Wheatley “for his contribution to the project during the crucial entry phase” and said the company will continue to develop its organisational structures to reach its goals.
