Art Fair Underway in Maastricht
The 38th edition of TEFAF Maastricht, a major art fair, is currently underway. The fair features "museum-quality" works spanning 7,000 years. Highlights include a to-scale Rembrandt dollhouse and rare maps of Europe.
TEFAF Maastricht 2026 features 260 dealers from 20 countries, maintaining its international scope. This year's fair runs from March 14-23 at the MECC Maastricht. The official opening took place on March 13. Among the showcased items is a newly discovered drawing by Michelangelo, valued at over $30 million. Another highlight includes a life-size dollhouse replica of Rembrandt's house, offering a unique historical perspective. Focus areas include antiquities, old master paintings, jewelry, and 20th-century design. Several exhibitors are presenting works with a focus on provenance research and historical context. TEFAF's emphasis this year includes increased online engagement through virtual tours and digital catalogs. They are also hosting a series of talks and panel discussions with art experts.
