Where Winds Meet Gets Hexi Expansion
Where Winds Meet launches its 'Hexi' expansion on March 5, adding fresh regions and tactics to the open-world strategy action game. The expansion promises new content for fans of the game's blend of martial arts, exploration, and strategic combat. The timing positions it well for strategy game enthusiasts looking for new content in early 2026.
The "Hexi" expansion is the first major content update for *Where Winds Meet* since its global launch for PC and PlayStation 5 on November 14, 2025. Developed by Everstone Studio and published by NetEase, the free-to-play Wuxia-themed RPG has already attracted 80 million players worldwide as of February 2026. This expansion will be released in three distinct chapters between March and May 2026. The first chapter, "Jade Gate Pass," introduces a vast desert landscape and is set in a dreamworld independent of the main game's timeline, inspired by the Tang Dynasty. Players can master new Wuxia skills, including "Sand Race," which allows for surfing on sand to travel faster, and "Cosmic Reversal," an ability to reverse time and reconstruct desert ruins to solve puzzles. The expansion will also add new combat styles, such as the precision-based Heng Blade. Across its three chapters, the Hexi expansion will introduce three large maps with almost 20 sub-regions, featuring environments like ice fields and snow-capped mountains. Players will also encounter eleven new bosses, including a massive roaming world boss called the Wandering Ark. *Where Winds Meet* is set during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period of Chinese history and allows players to take on various professions, from a healer to a scholar, in addition to being a wandering martial artist. The game features cross-platform play and progression across PC, PlayStation 5, and mobile devices.
