GU is bringing Puppet Sunsun back for a second collaboration, with an ice-cream-themed capsule set to hit stores on June 19, 2026. (fashion-press.net) The new drop will be sold at GU stores nationwide in Japan and through GU’s online store, according to the company’s April 20, 2026 press release. GU said the lineup spans women’s, kids’ and goods, with prices ranging from 990 yen to 2,990 yen. (gu-global.com) GU’s official collaboration page lists women’s graphic T-shirts at 1,490 yen, cotton short-sleeve pajama sets at 2,490 yen, kids’ T-shirts at 990 yen, two-pair sock sets at 990 yen and pouches at 1,990 yen. The page says online sales are scheduled to start at 7:15 a.m. on Friday, June 19. (gu-global.com) The collection centers on an “Sunsun and ice cream” theme, with GU describing original graphics built around an ice-cream shop wagon and menu-board imagery. The company said the wagon artwork appears only in this collaboration. (gu-global.com) That makes this release a seasonal pivot from the first GU x Puppet Sunsun range, which launched on October 31, 2025 with colder-weather items including knits, sweatshirts, lounge sets and pouches. GU’s first press release called that debut the pair’s first collaboration and priced the range from 390 yen to 3,990 yen. (gu-global.com) Puppet Sunsun has become a bigger retail partner as its audience has expanded beyond social clips into television. Fashion Press reported in September 2025 that the character franchise had more than 2 million followers across social platforms and that short movies began airing on Fuji TV’s “Mezamashi TV” in July 2025. (fashion-press.net) The summer range leans harder into matching and casual daily wear than the first drop did. GU said the kids’ shirts are designed to link with the women’s styles, while the new mini pouches show Sunsun peeking out of chocolate-mint ice cream and Nonnon peeking out of vanilla ice cream. (gu-global.com) GU’s official product lineup also shows multiple women’s T-shirt graphics and three pajama colorways, reinforcing that this is a compact motif-driven capsule rather than a broad apparel rollout. The June timing puts the collection into GU’s early-summer character-collaboration calendar, alongside other warm-weather licensed drops the brand has teased this year. (gu-global.com)
